Our Team
Eric DeBonis
Eric is passionate about helping organizations strengthen operational and financial performance. He enjoys aligning the senior leadership team in building a culture of continuous improvement, driving innovation within the organization, advancing business growth strategies, empowering the management team and employees, building highly effective teams, and inspiring leadership development.
Prior to starting DeBonis Consulting, LLC in 2022, Eric completed a 29-year career of increasing responsibility and accountability with Southwest Gas Corporation. Eric has extensive experience in the division and corporate engineering, gas control operations, measurement and control, distribution and transmission construction, regulatory compliance, integrity management, emergency response, division operations, call center operations, construction contracting, and capital construction plan development and execution. He led numerous process and technology transformation projects including centralizing dispatch operations, establishing a construction quality analytics program, and replacing the legacy customer information system. Eric served as Senior Vice President/Operations for 10 years, consistently improving safety, operational, and financial results. Prior to Southwest Gas, Eric held various positions in marketing and operations with Public Service Company of New Mexico.
Eric earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Mexico and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Nevada, Reno. He also completed the Advanced Executive Program at Northwestern University. Eric is a registered professional engineer in Arizona, California, and Nevada.
Sonnya DeBonis
Sonnya DeBonis is committed to making a positive difference in people's lives. She believes everyone has value and there is a place at the table for all. She has a proven track record as a leader and is passionate about improving the community.
Sonnya is Chair of the Foundation Board of Nevada State College. She appreciates the opportunity to work with other leaders in the community with a vision to advocate for first-generation students and expand the educational system with opportunities such as nursing, teaching, and speech pathology. The impact on these college students and their communities is especially explosive, as graduates’ deeper level of knowledge and expertise begins to serve new sectors of society and elevate global conversations.
Sonnya is an active member of Nevada Women’s Philanthropy, serving as chair of the Grant Screening Committee. Nevada Women’s Philanthropy (NWP) is a member-driven, pooled-fund, large-impact grant-making organization established to address the needs of the greater Las Vegas community. The membership consists of philanthropically motivated women, united by a powerful desire to address emerging issues facing our community in the areas of arts, education, environment, social services, and health.
As a long-standing member of the Junior League of Las Vegas, Sonnya held substantial positions of increasing responsibility and accountability since 2010. Key successes include Gala Fundraising Chair 2013, Provisional Member Chair 2014, VP of Community Relations 2016, VP of League Operations 2017, and President 2018. Sonnya remains an active sustaining member chairing the 75th Anniversary Chair 2018 – 2021 and advising active members in leadership positions.
Sonnya earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of New Mexico. Sonnya was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM. She is an adventurous traveler and voracious reader.
